What a hair care distributor's portfolio should include

A bigger portfolio isn't always better. A distributor carrying many lines that do the same thing, and who can't explain them, will struggle to sell. What matters is that each line has a reason to be there and a sheet to back it up.

01

Which categories should it cover?

The ones your salons work with daily: reconstruction, hydration, nutrition, detox, chemical and color work, and finishing. Mark which are missing and which are duplicated.

As a reference, the Brulier portfolio brings together reconstruction with Golden, hydration with Diamond, detox with Reset, technical color work with Nuance, and finishing with Magic Fix.

02

Why include both professional and home care lines?

Because the salon needs both conversations: the service in the chair and what the client takes home. Reset, for example, has 1 L professional products and a Home Care line in 300 ml and 300 g.

A line with no take-home version isn't a problem if you use it for another purpose. You just need to know before the visit.

03

What information should each line have?

Indications, directions, processing times, sizes, and yield where documented. Ask the brand what documentation exists for each line: technical manual, label, or data sheet.

Prepare your own one-page summary per line. If you can't say which hair it's for, you aren't ready to present it yet.

04

What should set it apart?

Arguments a professional can verify. Pitaya uses raw material from Brulier's own orchard in Oliveira, Minas Gerais, and has a 100% vegan formula. Golden allows up to 5 protocols with the same kit. These are concrete facts, not adjectives.

05

What terms should you clarify with the brand?

Initial order, territories, prices, shipping times, training, and sales materials. Ask for any agreement in writing and review it with your advisor. At Brulier USA these terms aren't published and are set with you. Request information about the portfolio.

In summary

Organize by service, cover salon and home, document each line, and put the terms in writing. A portfolio you can explain sells better than one that is merely large.

Frequently asked questions

Should I start with the whole catalog?

Not necessarily. You can begin with the categories your salons ask for most and expand based on real demand.

How do I know if two lines overlap?

Compare indications and protocols. If they serve the same hair with the same service, ask yourself why you need both.

Where can I see Brulier USA's terms?

They aren't published. They are set directly with you, through the distributor form or by WhatsApp.
